Prepare a company for Brazilian fiscal operations¶
Review the company and fiscal settings that determine how sales, purchases and electronic documents behave.
Before you start¶
Use a fiscal manager account and the company data and rules approved by the accounting team. Work in the intended company; many defaults and accounts depend on the active company.
Step by step¶
1. Review company and accounts¶
In Fiscal > Partners > Company, check legal name, CNPJ, registrations, address, municipality and fiscal regime. In accounting configuration, review the approved chart, journals and receivable/payable accounts. Inspect company-specific partner defaults instead of assuming they are shared across companies.
2. Review operations and fiscal classifications¶
Open Fiscal > Configuration > Operations and review the permitted sale, purchase and return operations and their lines. Compare partner profile, product classification, CFOP and tax situation in a representative draft document. Use the approved rule set for the actual regime, origin and destination.
3. Review series, certificate and environment¶
Under Fiscal > Configuration > Others, inspect document types, series and the certificate for the company. Review certificate ownership and validity without exposing its password. Check the electronic-document environment and service configuration before enabling transmission. An installed fiscal document type alone does not provide a live NFS-e or CT-e connector.
4. Review a representative transaction¶
Prepare a controlled draft with a known customer or supplier and products. Compare taxes, totals, journal and installments with the approved expected result. Document unresolved differences before releasing the configuration to operational users.
Expected result¶
Users have reviewed company defaults and fiscal operations for the supported business scenarios.
If something goes wrong¶
For missing fiscal menus, check fiscal groups and company access. A valid certificate does not establish correct taxation or service availability. If a rule differs from the expected result, preserve the draft and request review of the specific operation and product classification.
