Follow an opportunity through to a quotation or task¶
Keep the customer conversation, next activity and commercial outcome together. Create a project task when technical work is needed before or after the sale.
Before you start¶
Have the customer, salesperson, sales team and intended project. Lead mining and enrichment use configured IAP services and may consume credits.
Step by step¶
1. Register and qualify¶
In CRM, open the pipeline and create or locate the opportunity. Check company, contact, expected revenue and salesperson. Convert a lead to an opportunity when qualified; review matching contacts before creating a new customer or merging duplicates.
2. Record the next action¶
Schedule an activity with owner and deadline. Complete it with the outcome and schedule the next one. Move the opportunity to the appropriate stage. Use an internal note for team discussion and a message only when the selected recipients should receive it.
3. Create the commercial or project record¶
Use New Quotation to prepare the offer linked to the opportunity. For technical follow-up, use Create Task, select the project and task name, then open the Tasks counter to check the link. Creating a task does not confirm a sale or invoice the work.
4. Close and analyze¶
Mark Won after confirming the commercial outcome, or Lost with a useful reason. Review pipeline, win/loss and salesperson reports with consistent dates and teams. Restore a lost opportunity when negotiations resume.
Expected result¶
An opportunity with a clear next action or outcome and traceable quotations and tasks.
If something goes wrong¶
If Create Task disappears, inspect the Tasks counter: the installed integration hides this button after a task exists. For missing records, check salesperson filters, active company and access to the destination project.
