Review notifications and send an SMS¶
Use messages or reminders from the business record and check the recipient and delivery result.
Before you start¶
The contact needs an appropriate mobile number, and the external SMS service requires configuration and credits. An internal note, an email and an SMS have different recipients and delivery channels.
Step by step¶
1. Identify the communication and recipient¶
Open the opportunity, quotation, transfer, task or calendar event. Review the contact and destination number before using the available SMS action. For calendar reminders, inspect the reminder type and timing on the event; email and SMS reminders are not interchangeable.
2. Review and send¶
Read the final message with substituted names, dates and links. Check the selected recipient count and available credit before sending. For automated transfer or event notifications, have the responsible user review the configured template and trigger before enabling them.
3. Inspect the delivery result¶
Review the communication history and any delivery error. Before retrying, check the number, credit and whether the previous message was already accepted by the service. Keep business decisions in the record so the team can follow the conversation.
Expected result¶
The message or reminder has a reviewed recipient and a traceable delivery outcome.
If something goes wrong¶
If the SMS action is unavailable, check the installed integration and user permissions. A message recorded in the chatter is not proof that the recipient read it. Resolve invalid numbers or service errors before resending.
