Handle a correction, cancellation or return

Choose the appropriate process for a document with an error or a transaction that must be reversed. These actions have different fiscal, stock and financial effects.

Before you start

Locate the original document, its electronic status and authorization protocol. Ask the fiscal team to decide which event is permitted for the actual situation, including applicable conditions and deadlines.

Step by step

1. Choose the correct treatment

For an unapproved draft or rejection, correct the source data through the allowed editing flow. For an authorized document, do not overwrite the original information. Use Carta de correção, Cancelar or a return operation only after the fiscal team identifies the appropriate procedure.

2. Record the event and inspect its response

Open the original document and the chosen event. Review the justification or correction text before confirming. In the EDI tab, check the event state, response and protocol. Preserve the event file with the original XML; an event request is not proof of acceptance.

3. Reconcile the business effects

For a return, check the referenced original document, returned items and quantities, return fiscal operation and resulting stock movement. Review the credit or debit, open installments and any payment already made. Confirm that fiscal cancellation and stock or financial reversal have each been handled where required.

Expected result

The original transaction remains traceable, with the accepted event or return and the corresponding operational adjustments.

If something goes wrong

If an action is unavailable, inspect the document state and permissions. If an event is rejected, preserve the original and record the response for the fiscal team. Do not use number invalidation as a substitute for cancellation of an authorized document.
