Import with DI or DUIMP in Odoo 16: what works and what is missing

The official 16.0 series of the OCA localization has no DI or DUIMP record yet: the l10n_br_duimp module is in an open pull request. See what an import purchase already does, what is missing and how to track import costs in the meantime.

Before you start

Have the importer, the foreign supplier, the exchange rate and the documents of each cost (freight, insurance, Siscomex fee, AFRMM, port handling). Odoo 16 has no screen for the declaration, its additions or the exchange rate, and the l10n_br_duimp module that would add them (PR #4655) still depends on an e-CNPJ, on enabling the Single Portal and on validation with real data. Confirm the tax treatment of each import tax with your accountant or customs broker.

Step by step

1. Check what is installed

In Apps, look for the l10n_br_duimp module. It is not part of the official 16.0 series; a version exists only in an open pull request (PR #4655, by Escodoo with KMEE) and should not go to production without validation. Without it there is no DUIMP menu and no Siscomex query.

2. Record the import purchase with what exists

Register the foreign supplier and the products with NCM, then post the purchase with the import fiscal operation (CFOP 3102). Odoo calculates the import tax (II), but PIS and COFINS come out at the domestic rates, not the import rates (2.1% and 9.65% on the customs value). Compare every amount with the official declaration and settle the difference with your accountant before confirming.

3. Track the additional costs outside the declaration

Customs expenses (Siscomex fee, AFRMM, port handling) have no field of their own. If the landed-cost workflow is installed, record them as additional costs of the receipts, choose the allocation method, calculate and inspect the allocation before validating it, without counting the same expense twice. Stock cost for an import purchase does not include customs expenses automatically.

Expected result

The import purchase is recorded and the additional costs are tracked, knowing that the declaration, its additions and the exchange rate are still controlled outside Odoo until the DUIMP module reaches the 16.0 series.

If something goes wrong

If PIS and COFINS come out at the domestic rates, adjust them as your accountant advises; Odoo does not correct them by itself. There is no import of the declaration: for the DUIMP, keep control in the Single Portal. To follow the module, watch PR #4655 or contact KMEE. Compare amounts already included in the product cost before adding landed costs.
