Sell variants and review prices and margins¶
Choose the exact product combination, inspect its cost basis and review the final quotation before confirmation.
Before you start¶
Product attributes, variants, price lists and costs must be configured. Selecting a bill of materials on a sales line requires the specific permission supplied by Sale MRP BOM.
Step by step¶
1. Choose quantities by variant¶
Add the product to a quotation. Use the configured variant configurator or order grid to choose attributes and quantities. Check the resulting order lines, unit of measure, variant reference and availability. Review tags on the product to help identify the correct family.
2. Review pricing and manufacturing choice¶
Check currency, price list, quantity breaks, discount and fiscal operation. When an alternative bill of materials is required, select it on the sales line before confirmation. For a manufacturing procurement, inspect the resulting manufacturing order to verify that it uses the selected bill.
3. Recalculate with a margin target¶
Inspect the cost and margin shown on the line. Use Update Margin to open the price recalculation assistant, enter the intended margin and choose Recalculate. Review the new unit price, discount, taxes and order total before sending the revised offer.
4. Compare estimates with fulfillment¶
After delivery or production, compare sales analysis and stock/manufacturing costs using the same company, currency and period. A quotation margin is an estimate; do not interpret it as the final accounting result.
Expected result¶
Each order line identifies the intended variant and price, with the cost and manufacturing assumptions reviewed.
If something goes wrong¶
For unexpected margin, check zero or outdated cost, currency, discount and unit conversion. Recheck the price after changing the variant or bill of materials. Do not edit a shared product cost solely to force one quotation to reach its target.
