Import a bank statement and reconcile with OCA¶
Match bank movements to payments, invoices and approved adjustments using the reconciliation interface installed in the KMEE environment.
Before you start¶
Check the company and bank journal, statement period and supported import format. Keep the bank’s original file and check whether the period has already been imported.
Step by step¶
1. Import and compare the statement¶
On the bank journal dashboard, choose Import Statement and select the supported file. Review the account, date range, number of transactions, opening and closing balances. Compare a sample of amounts and references with the bank file before reconciling.
2. Review each proposed match¶
Open reconciliation for the journal. Select a bank transaction and inspect the proposed partner, invoice or payment. Match by reference and amount, checking whether the movement is a partial payment, advance, fee or transfer. For a grouped deposit, select the corresponding items and check their sum.
3. Validate and check residuals¶
Validate only after the match and any adjustment account have been reviewed. Check the invoice’s residual amount and the journal’s remaining unreconciled transactions. Record an unresolved difference for investigation rather than forcing it to an arbitrary expense account.
Expected result¶
Bank movements have documented accounting matches, and remaining differences are visible for follow-up.
If something goes wrong¶
If the import repeats transactions, stop and compare existing identifiers and dates. For a missing invoice, check company, partner, posting state and previous payment. The native Enterprise reconciliation guide describes a different implementation; use this OCA procedure for the installed OCA screen.
